London: England captain Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum have accused Australia of not playing in the spirit of the game after the bizarre stumping of Jonny Bairstow ignited the second Test at Lord’s, which Australia won by 43 runs on Sunday.
“I can’t imagine we’ll be having a beer with them any time soon,” McCullum said after a day of high drama where the crowd erupted, chanting “cheat, cheat, cheat”, and the Australians made an official complaint after players were booed, abused and jostled when they walked through the Long Room for lunch. Three MCC members were subsequently suspended.

Australian captain Pat Cummins believes that some of the culprits will lose their MCC membership.
“They were quite aggressive and abusive towards some of our players. I know the MCC weren’t too happy,” Cummins said.
